2022년 10월 9일 곽민정 방송사 보도본부 어문위원이 여성신문에 기고한 기사이다. 한글날에 맞춰 외래어의 우리말 순화에 대한 기사로 국립국어원이 2019년 플로깅을 ‘쓰담 달리기’라는 우리말로 다듬었음을 이야기하고 있다. 필자는 국립국어원이 쓰담이 ‘손으로 살살 쓰다듬는 행위’이면서 ‘쓰레기 담기’의 줄임말이라고 소개하고 있으나 억지스러운 점이 있다고 지적한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 외국어를 순 우리말로 다듬어 사용하고자 하는 취지는 높게 평가되어야 하며 앞으로 순 우리말 사용을 확대하자며 플로깅보다는 '쓰담 달리기'를 사용하자고 이야기한다.
